A half-century ago Canada Geese were almost extinct because of excessive hunting and destruction of their habitat.  Now that the population of these handsome birds has been successfully restored, occasionally large flocks of geese cause problems in areas where they try to coexist with humans.

These grazing geese have caused soil erosion which has resulted in the degradation of this pond

This goose is defending her nest and about to attack the photographer.  This can result in great liability to property owners when unsuspecting pedestrians are knocked to the ground and possibly injured.
